How to Apply

Once you have read the Pre-Enrolment Information for International Students document, you can apply for entry into the Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance program.

To apply, you will need to complete an International Student Application Form and send directly to JMI. There is a $150 Application Fee that is payable in Australian dollars. We will not commence processing your application until this fee is paid.

With this application, you will need to also submit the following documents

  • A certified copy of your passport
  • A certified copy of IELTS or TOEFL-iBT test results

For information on what is a certified copy, visit the Department of Home Affairs website here: https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/lega/lega/form/immi-faqs/what-is-a-certified-copy-of-a-document

Once you have submitted your application, JMI will assess whether you meet the General Entry Requirements and English Language Proficiency.  If you do not meet the General Entry Requirements, you will not be able to apply for this course.  If you do not meet the English Language Proficiency, you will be recommended to take an English for Academic Purposes course to improve your English ability and will be required to re-sit an IELTS or TOEFL-iBT test.

If you meet both the General Entry Requirements and English Language Proficiency, JMI will contact you to arrange an audition.

After your audition

Once you have performed your audition, JMI will assess your suitability for the course.  If you are successful in your audition, JMI will send you a Letter of Offer and International Student Enrolment Agreement to confirm your place.

Once you have received this documentation, you will need to complete the International Student Enrolment Agreement and return to JMI to confirm your place.

Once you have confirmed your place, JMI will issue you with a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) which you will need if you are applying for a student visa.  For more information regarding applying for a student visa, please go to https://www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/visa-1/500-
