Bachelor Of Music In Jazz Performance
JMI’s Bachelor of Music in Jazz Performance is a 3-year full time music course endorsed by some of the biggest international jazz artists. This is a performance-based course where students will spend the majority of their contact hours playing their instrument.
Diploma of Music in Jazz Performance
JMI’s Diploma of Music in Jazz Performance is a 1-year full time music course endorsed by some of the biggest international jazz artists. This is a performance-based course where students will spend the majority of their contact hours playing their instrument.
HOW TO APPLY
Here is a step-by-step guide through the application process to study at JMI as an International Student. We will guide you through each step of the process and our helpful staff are always available to provide assistance and support your application.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
International students need to meet 3 categories of entry requirements to be accepted to study at JMI – General Entry Requirements, English Language Proficiency Requirements and Audition Requirements.

JMI International Excellence Scholarship
The Jazz Music Institute (JMI) International Excellence Scholarship recognises exceptional musical talent and artistic potential in international students applying to study at JMI.
This scholarship is awarded to applicants who demonstrate outstanding musicianship, creativity, technical ability, and a strong commitment to artistic development through their audition and application materials.
This scholarship provides provide partial tuition fee support (up to $8,000) for eligible international students commencing in an approved JMI higher education program.
Selection is based on:

- – Alignment with JMI’s values of artistic excellence, collaboration, and professionalism
Scholarships are limited and competitive. Applicants are encouraged to apply early and ensure all admissions and audition requirements have been completed.

APPLY NOW
Complete the International Student Application Form below to commence your application with JMI. Once you’ve completed the form, JMI will contact you to arrange an interview and audition.
After your audition
Once you have performed your audition, JMI will assess your suitability for the course. If you are successful in your audition, JMI will send you a Letter of Offer and International Student Enrolment Agreement to confirm your place.
Once you have received this documentation, you will need to complete the International Student Enrolment Agreement and return to JMI to confirm your place.
Once you have confirmed your place, JMI will issue you with a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) which you will need if you are applying for a student visa. Pending approval of your student visa, you will then be sent information regarding orientation and commencement of the program.
