JMI and New York’s Jazz at Lincoln Center will be bringing a new and exciting festival to Australia in August this year, offering high school jazz bands and music directors/musicians of all sorts some excellent performance and professional development opportunities.
The Essentially Ellington Down Under Regional Festival will feature a high school big band festival in Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney adjudicated by 2 Jazz at Lincoln Center representatives. In addition, there will be a full-day workshop in each city for musicians, students and teachers led by the Jazz at Lincoln Center representatives.
