Benjamin Bruni will be joined by Joshua Hatcher (saxophone), Eden Armstrong (piano), Elliott Parker (bass), and Christopher Evans (drums) for an evening of hard-bop and post-bop. The night will feature works of Jim Rotondi, Eric Alexander, and original arrangements.
Benjamin grew up in Brisbane and studied in Mount Gambier under the tutelage of Matthew Jodrell, James Morrison, and Ross Irwin. Ever since, Benjamin has been working as a commercial solo, and lead trumpet player playing with the likes of James Morrison, the Australian Jazz Youth Orchestra (ANJYO), Vanessa Perica, The One-O’Clock Lab Band, Joshua Kaufman, Darren Percival, John Foreman, Jeff Clayton, Ashlie Amber, Carl Schultz, and Savannah Smith.
Benjamin’s primary focus these days is with the Australian Army Band. His art is inspired by some of the great musicians such as; Freddie Hubbard, Roy Hargrove, Nicholas Payton, Gerard Presencer, Ingrid Jensen and James Morrison.

Tickets are being sold through Humanitix. Purchase limited seated tickets here. Due to JMI Live being an intimate space, we have a maximum number of guests allowed in the venue. We highly recommend it is best to get in early before tickets sell out.

Ticket Refund Policy
If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms and are unable to attend after having purchased a ticket, please contact the JMI office (07 3216 1110 or email play@jazz.qld.edu.au) as soon as possible during business hours (10AM-4PM) to let us know you won’t be able to attend. A full refund will be given if we are contacted prior to a performance. Refunds will not be processed if we are contacted after the gig.
