Andrew Butt Trio + returns to their favourite jazz room in the world with a program of new original compositions alongside an eclectic mix of standards and “not so” standards.
The performance will feature new music by Andrew Butt together with selections from the Great American Songbook and songs by some of the most influential songwriters of the past century, reimagined through the group’s distinctive contemporary jazz approach.
The ensemble has received multiple Queensland Music Awards and nominations over the years, including the 2024 Jazz Award. Their latest release, Peregian, was nominated for the 2025 Queensland Music Awards Album of the Year.
Andrew has been regularly featured on radio and at major venues and festivals across the globe, including the Wangaratta Festival of Jazz, the Brisbane International Jazz Festival, Le Baiser Salé (Paris), U Malého Glena Jazz Club (Prague), Sunset – Sunside (Paris), Tanks Arts Centre (Cairns) and the Paris Cat Jazz Club & Bennets Lane (Melbourne).
This performance will feature Kellee Green (piano), Toby Wren (guitar), Aaron Jansz (drums), Nick Quigley (bass) and Andrew Butt (saxophones/leader).

Tickets are being sold through Humanitix. Purchase limited seated tickets here. Due to JMI Live being an intimate space, we have a maximum number of guests allowed in the venue. We highly recommend it is best to get in early before tickets sell out.

Ticket Refund Policy
If you are experiencing flu-like symptoms and are unable to attend after having purchased a ticket, please contact the JMI office (07 3216 1110 or email play@jazz.qld.edu.au) as soon as possible during business hours (10AM-4PM) to let us know you won’t be able to attend. A full refund will be given if we are contacted prior to a performance. Refunds will not be processed if we are contacted after the gig.
