Ben Bruni (SYD) Quartet – 15/02/24

Ben Bruni playing trumpet
Intrigued by jazz from an early age, Ben Bruni embarked on a musical journey after receiving a Miles Davis CD as a gift. Captivated by Davis’ unique trumpet sound, his passion for jazz ignited. Influenced
by a rich tapestry of trumpeters, including Freddie Hubbard, Clifford Brown, Roy Hargrove, Chet Baker, and many more, Ben’s musical journey has been a vibrant exploration of diverse styles. Studying at the James Morrison Academy of Music, Ben had the privilege of touring states like New York and D.C., performing at iconic venues such as Dizzy’s Club Coca-Cola at Jazz at Lincoln Center.

Collaborating with renowned artists like James Morrison, Mat Jodrell, and Vanessa Perica, Ben’s gained invaluable experiences shaping his musical identity. Relocating to Sydney marked a significant chapter in his musical journey as he joined the army band, bringing his skills as a lead trumpet player and soloist to new heights. Whether on stage at iconic venues, cruising the seas, or collaborating with esteemed artists, each note played is a testament to the unwavering dedication to his craft. Beyond the melodies, his journey is marked by a commitment to pushing boundaries, embracing the unknown, and creating music that resonates with the soul.

For this special performance, Ben will be joined by a trio of local musicians, Eden Armstrong (piano), Elliott Parker (bass) and Mitch Bellert (drums) for a performance not to be missed!
