Doors open from 7:30PM
Music from 8pm
10 Exhibition St, Bowen Hills: JMI Live

Nick Karpin is a Brisbane based saxophonist, with a love for jazz, composition and improvisation. His music covers a wide variety of jazz styles in the vein of artists like Bill Evans, John Coltrane, and Miles Davis. Audiences can expect material that bridges between well-known standards, original compositions, to highlighting the rich and unique character of Australian jazz and its composers.

This performance will see Nick showcasing tracks from his debut album entitled ‘River City’. The album is a tribute to the city of Brisbane and its vibrant and diverse jazz community. It was mastered by 301 studio’s head mastering engineer Leon Zervos (Wynton Marsalis, Rihanna, INXS, Tito Puente), mixed by Brisbane jazz audio legend Mark Smith, and recorded at Alchemix studios in West End.

Accompanying Nick are some of Brisbane’s finest young jazz musicians with Benjamin Van Jole – piano , Katie Randall – drums, and James Visentin – upright bass.
