Our Mission: JMI exists to make a distinctive difference to the preservation and promotion of all aspects of jazz and related styles of music, through a higher education program of excellent calibre, combining study and performance opportunities for aspiring specialist jazz and improvising musicians. We seek to achieve our mission through these broad goals:1. We make high quality education a defining feature of the JMI by preparing graduates who are well educated jazz musicians and lifelong learners able to work in the community as performers, educators, or other related fields of music endeavor;2.
