Brendan Foster

Brendan Foster Duo – 16/04/20

To our friends and family of JMI,
We have been keeping a close eye on all developments, updates and advice from Federal and State Government, as well as Health authorities. We understand that it is our responsibility to reduce the further spread of this virus and flatten the curve.
Due to the unprecedented and unfolding circumstances related to COVID-19, JMI Live will unfortunately be shutting our big red doors to the public until further notice.
However, JMI Live is blessed to have our Live-Stream up and running on both YouTube and our Facebook page.
At this present time, this gig will still be going ahead but ONLINE!
This will be a trying time for the entertainment and hospitality industry as a whole, so please join us from 8PM every Thursday to keep the music swingin’!

After an interval full of anticipation, the Brendan Foster trio will reunite on the 16th of April! Continuing within a drum-less trio format, they will present a packed program full of new repertoire and arrangements. The Trio is also excited to share the stage temporarily with special guests Harry Ottley (Alto Saxophone), and Royce Jenner (Guitar).

The Brendan Foster Trio is a Brisbane-based contemporary Jazz trio featuring Brendan Foster (Vibraphone, Compositions/Arrangements), Jess Spina (Vocals), and Bede Prince (Upright Bass).

The trio began its journey as collaborating students of the Queensland Conservatorium. As a group, they present a fresh interpretation on long-standing jazz repertoire, along with original compositions. Having played together for quite some time, they have instigated the development of a deeply original and individual sound. The instrumentation features the warm and delicate tonality of the vibraphone and upright bass. This will be complimented by rich and tasteful vocals, culminating in a unique acoustic sound. The inclusion of the vibraphone into a three-piece Jazz ensemble provides a rare, listening experience.
