The Elliott Parker Quintet – 21/11/19

Elliott Parker has been involved with the Brisbane jazz scene since 2013 and has had a strong presence with his groove, time and feel playing the double bass. Having played with artists such as Jerome Jennings, Vince Gardner, Nick Hempton, Barney Mcall, James Sherlock, Kristin Berardi and Tyrone Noonan, Parker now has the chance to put together his own band of outstanding musicians.

Lachlan Mckenzie, Alex Price and Christopher Evans attended Jazz Music Institute together and have played in a countless amount of projects together and in their own ventures have played with artists of significance. Lachlan and Alex are like Brisbane’s Clifford Brown and Lester Young – while Chris is aspiring towards drummers such as Marcus Gilmore and Carl Allen. Wil Sargisson and Elliott were introduced to each other through playing and loving the music of the Oscar Peterson Trio. Having artists such as Art Tatum, James Booker, Fats Waller, Dick Hyman, Ray Charles and many more, Wil has an arsenal of understanding for the music and plays the keys in a way that is powerful and mind-boggling.

The Quintet will be playing music by Christian McBride & Inside Straight, Ray Brown, Benny Green, and Bill Evans.
