Louise Denson is an accomplished pianist/composer whose work features beautiful melodies, rich harmony and happening grooves, reflecting her experience in jazz, classical, Afro-Cuban and Brazilian music. She has released four LDG CDs: On the Level (1996), Clean Start (2002, Queensland Sunnie Award Best Jazz CD), Portrait (with Ingrid James, 2007), and Flame Tree (LDG-Latin! 2010). She received the QSong Pinnacles Jazz Award for Best Jazz Composition (2007). Her work in the jazz and classical genres has been recorded by Australian and American artists. Louise lectures in Jazz at the Queensland Conservatorium. LDG has performed at the Wangaratta Jazz Festival, Melbourne Women’s International Jazz Festival, Valley Jazz Festival, Brisbane Jazz Festival, Broadbeach Jazz Festival and others.
LDG is pleased to collaborate with saxophonist/composer Martha Baartz.
Martha has performed extensively at renowned Australian jazz venues and festivals including the Melbourne Women’s International Jazz Festival, the world famous Glastonbury Festival and the Edinburgh Festival. Martha is well known for her compositions performed in the Baartz Freeman Sextet and Baartzy’s Brew. She has recorded three successful albums and her music is often played on Radio National, Jazz Track.
